Michael "Mike" I. Franke, age 65 of Lowell, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2020 at UW-Hospital in Madison. 

 Mike was born in DeWitt, IA, on December 18, 1954, the son of Stan and Vera (Kopet) Franke. He proudly served his country in Vietnam. He was united in marriage to Dawn Berkey in Milwaukee. An avid outdoorsman, Mike loved hunting and fishing, as well as riding his Harley Davidson. He worked as a welder for many years, and in his free time he enjoyed working on classic cars. 

 Mike is survived by his wife, Dawn Franke of Lowell; step-children, Steven (Nichole) Locke of Germantown, Stephanie (Jay) Leveston of Milwaukee; grandchildren, Lucas, Eli, and Charlotte; siblings, Stan (Betsy) Franke and Sharon (Rick) Horvath; his beloved dogs, Ginger and Rosie; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. 

 He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Danny, and other relatives. 

  A memorial gathering for Mike will be held on Friday, February 28, 2020 at St. John's Lutheran Church - Salem, 105 Juneau St., Lowell, from 10:00 a.m until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Paul Schupmann officiating. The service will be followed by a luncheon gathering at Lowell VFW Post, 280 South St., Lowell.
