Michael "Mike" W. Zuhlke, age 46, of Beaver Dam, died on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 surrounded by his family at the University of Wisconsin Hospital in Madison.

Mike was born on November 27, 1961 in Beaver Dam to Harold and Mary Ann (nee Hupf) Zuhlke. He graduated from Waupun High School in 1980 and worked as a diesel mechanic for Waste Management and later Veolia. Mike enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding his Harley motorcycle. He was looking forward to his Route 66 trip planned for later this year. Mike was a good cook, although sometimes he was known to be a little messy in the kitchen. He liked going on ice fishing trips with his friends. Mike was a very fun guy to be around, and his knack of telling a good story will be dearly missed by many.

Mike is survived by his mother Mary Ann of Beaver Dam, his brother Joe (special friend Sara Veling) Zuhlke of Beaver Dam, his two sisters Tammy (Geno) Kok of Fox Lake and Julie (David) Reak of Oologah, OK, his three nephews Corey Dins (fiancé Lindsay Stamn) of Beaver Dam, Colin Reak of OK, and Justin Zuhlke of Beaver Dam, and his two nieces Ashley Reak of OK and Olivia Zuhlke of Beaver Dam. He is further survived by aunts, uncles, cousins and many special friends. Mike is preceded in death by his father Harold in June 2006 and his paternal and maternal grandparents.

A Memorial Service for Mike will be held on Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 6:30 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd, Beaver Dam, with Fr. Mike Wild officiating. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service. Private family inurnment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in the township of Trenton.
