Obituary
Mildred Winchell, age 100 of Markesan, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 6, 2015 at Barrett House in Markesan.
Mildred was born on February 7, 1915 in Marquette, WI, the daughter of Frank and Martha (Frederick) Dauman. She was united in marriage to Byron Winchell on June 22, 1935 in Rockford, IL. Mildred enjoyed her role as a housewife, while she also mowed lawns and served 27 years as the Village Clerk. She loved birds and flowers.
Mildred is survived by her daughter, Vickie (Gary) Arneson of Marquette; daughter-in-law, Vera Winchell; 11 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband (1992); her son, Darrell Winchell (2009); daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Winchell (1991); and her grandchild, Debra Winchell (2003).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the Marquette Fire Department, 151 Front St., Marquette, WI 53947.

A funeral service for Mildred will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 181 S. Main St., Markesan with Rev. Gary Zacharias officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at Cornerstone, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Grand View Cemetery, Marquette.
