Myron “Joe” Kranz Jr., 68, of Waupun, died unexpectedly Sunday, April 17, 2016 at his home.

Joe was born July 17, 1947 in Hustisford, WI the son of Myron and Pauline Oestreich Kranz Sr. Joe was a graduate of Beaver Dam High School in 1966. In 1967 he enlisted with the U.S. Army for three years. He served one year in the states and two years in Germany. On January 23, 1971 he married Randeen Hoffman at First Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Following their marriage the couple resided in the Beaver Dam and Waupun area. Joe worked at Kraft Foods in Beaver Dam, Maysteel in Mayville, Gardner Manufacturing, and Wisconsin Dept. of Corrections from which he retired. Joe enjoyed camping, traveling, and listening to sports on the radio. Joe was a member of First Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.

Joe is survived by his wife, Randeen Kranz of Waupun; two daughters, Holly (Mark) Gerber of Waupun and Tracie Garczynski (Ed Schleicher) of Waupun; grandchildren: Travis (Tamara), Ryan, Nicole, and Megan Gerber, and Hannah and Allyson Garczynski; great-grandchildren: Sienna, Jaylen, and Kayden; a sister, Linda (Jack) Yuds of Beaver Dam; a brother, Randy Kranz of Racine, WI; mother-in-law, Joyce Hoffman of Horicon; previous son-in-law, Joe Garczynski Jr. of Beaver Dam; and aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents; and his son, Tyler Kranz in 2014.


Friends and relatives may call on the family on Friday at the funeral home from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service.



Funeral services for Myron “Joe” Kranz Jr. will be held Friday, April 22, 2016 at 1 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Pastor Jeff Nicla officiating.



Burial will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Horicon where American Legion Post 210 of Waupun will provide military honors.
