Obituary

Nancy Louise Laper (Polakowski), 88, of Markesan, WI, fell asleep in Jesus on April 18 th , 2022, at Christian Home & Rehabilitation in Waupun, WI with loved ones by her side. Even with Nancy's complications, she always fought to live in the eyes of God, she was very faithful to her Rosary and her religious beliefs. Nancy was a kind soul, but always would speak her mind and would always care for others and have talks to make things better.

Visitation for Nancy will take place on Saturday, April 23, 2022, at Holy Family Catholic Parish, 41 St. Joseph St., Markesan from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. with Fr. T. Joji Reddy as Celebrant.

Nancy was born November 18, 1933, in Berlin, WI, the daughter of George and Susan (O'Kon) Polakowski Sr. She graduated from Berlin High School and married the late Irwin G. Laper Sr. in 1952, and they resided in Markesan. Nancy in her younger years worked at the Berlin Hospital as a CNA and Berlin Drug Store and later years worked as custodian and drove school bus for many years for the Markesan District Schools, as well as farming alongside her husband. Her new home became the Christian Home & Rehabilitation, where she made many new friends who will miss her dearly. She enjoyed the many activities at the nursing home and was quite good at them.

Nancy was proud of her Catholic faith, and collection of her angels and was guided in life by her strong faith and love of family. She always said her biggest accomplishment was raising 8 children. She was a loving wife, mother, grandma and great-grandma. She will be deeply missed by many. Nancy is survived by her 7 children, Gerald (Judy) Laper, Susan {Allan) Krentz, of Markesan, Linda {Steve) Dornfeld of Cambria, Jeff Laper (Lisa Henderson) of Cambria, Irwin Jr. (Amy) Laper of Randolph, Bryan Laper, Tanya (Paul) Sauer of Salemville; her 20 grandchildren and 42 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Avis Cornwell and June Zuhlke; and further survived by other relatives and friends.

Nancy is preceeded in death by her parents; late husband, Irwin G. Laper; their daughter, Deborah (Janhke) Laper; her many sisters and brothers, sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law; and other relatives.

The family would like to thank her second family and all employees at the Christian Home & Rehabilitation, for all there sincere and loving care to our Mom! She truly loved every one of you!

Also, a heartfelt thank you from the family to Ripon Community Hospital, Firstar Ambulance Service, Christian Home & Rehabilitation, Dr. Manish Sharda of Waupun and Hospice for the compassion and care they gave Mom during her courageous fight over the final days of her life.
