Obituary
Norbert H. Zuehls, age 92 of Markesan, passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2013 at Appleton Medical Center in Appleton.
Norbert was born on May 2, 1921 to Herman and Hulda (nee Schwark) Zuehls in the Township of St. Marie, Green Lake County. He attended Black Creek School, St. John's Lutheran School and graduated from Princeton High School. He was confirmed at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Princeton. Norbert was a member of St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Markesan.
He married Amee Schwandt in Markesan on December 22, 1944. They farmed in the Markesan area all of their lives. His passion was farming. Cattle, crops and cars were his main interests. He showed cattle at the International Livestock Show in Chicago and also leased trucks to the canning factory. Norbert was active as a 4-H leader in the beef project. He was awarded a Partner in 4-H plaque after being a leader for more than 30 years. Together with his wife Amee, he also enjoyed traveling, particularly to Hawaii and Mexico.
Norbert enjoyed his family, especially when they came to visit on Friday nights. He is survived by his sons, Andre (Barbara) Zuehls of Beaver Dam and Lonn (Mary Lou) Zuehls of Markesan; daughters, Jennifer (Duane) Brey of Markesan and Emily Zuehls of Green Lake; 13 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Margaret Zanto and Ruth Krueger, both of Princeton. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Amee in 2005, two brothers and three sisters.
A Funeral Service for Norbert will be held on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church, 65 W. Catherine St., Markesan with Rev. Jason Jobs officiating. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, June 11, 2013 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral Service, 181 S. Main St., Markesan and also on Wednesday prior to the service at church, beginning at 1:00 p.m. Burial will follow the service at Markesan Memorial Cemetery.
