Norman R. “Bud” Kenning, age 98 of Beaver Dam, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2026 at Prairie Ridge Assisted Living in Beaver Dam.
Bud was born on February 10, 1928, in Beaver Dam, the son of Ralph and Elnora (Daye) Kenning. On October 20, 1951, he was united in marriage to Helen Rohde. Together, they celebrated 71 years of marriage. In the 1940’s he worked for Lockheed Air Corporation in Burbank, CA, building B-17 airplanes before enlisting in the United States Air Force and continuing to proudly serve his country. After returning home, he worked for John Deere for many years, finally retiring in 1985. He was honored to take part in a Badger Honor Flight in October 2018 with his grandson, Derek, as his Guardian. Bud was an avid bowler and golfed into his 90s. Bud and Helen enjoyed wintering in Florida for many years. He was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, the Beaver Dam Country Club, and the John E. Miller American Legion Post 146. He also enjoyed attending breakfast at Park Ave with his church group after services on Sundays, and cherished the time with his men’s McDonalds coffee clutch group.
Bud is survived by his grandson, Derek (Brandy) Foulkes of Fall River; great-grandsons, Dylan (Lauryn Clark) Foulkes and Devin Foulkes; sister-in-law, Beverly Kossen; son-in-law, Greg Landaal; and further survived by many special nephews, nieces, other relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Helen Kenning in 2023; his daughter, Linda Landaal; his grandson, Kevin Foulkes; his siblings, Lester, Ralph Jr., Lawrence, and Pearl Johann; and other relatives.
Our family extends a heartfelt thanks to the caring staff at Prairie Ridge, and to family and friends whose visits brought Bud comfort and joy.
