Obituary

Orville F. Dahl, age 89 of Beaver Dam, died unexpectedly at St. Luke's Medical Center in Milwaukee on Saturday, February 16, 2008.

Orville was born on March 6, 1918, in Oshkosh, to August and Minnie (nee Kleinschmidt) Dahl. He proudly served his country in the United States Army Medical Corp during World War II. On August 31, 1946 he married his loving wife Josephine Hasenfus at Zion Lutheran Church in Columbus. Orville co-owned and operated Beaver Cleaners in Beaver Dam for 25 years. He was a member of St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam, the John E. Miller American Legion Post 146, and the legion honor society, Forty & Eight.

Orville is survived by his wife, Josephine Dahl of Beaver Dam; his children, Susan Berg of Madison, Jean Dahl of Beaver Dam, Philip Dahl of Beaver Dam, David (Diane) Dahl of Beaver Dam, Mary (Daniel) Karst of Beaver Dam, and John Dahl of Beaver Dam; one sister, Hazel Bell of Fond du Lac; 15 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Earl, and three sisters Jane, Lucille and Gladys.

Honoring Orville's wishes, private family services will be held. Interment will take place at Highland Memory Gardens in the township of Trenton. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, Beaver Dam.
