Orville Rens

Orville W. Rens, age 82, passed away peacefully on May 10, 2025 after a long illness with Parkinson's disease surrounded by family at Prairie Ridge in Waupun.

Orville was born July 28, 1942 in Fond du Lac County near Fairwater, the son of Harold and Wilma Loomans Rens. Orville married Mary Bronkhorst in 1961 and later divorced. Orville farmed with his father-in-law, and then owned his own farm near Alto. He farmed in the Alto area for 30 yrs and did sales and service for Agromatic farm equipment. He then worked at Kirsh foundry until retirement. Orville moved to Waupun in 2013 and was a member of the Edgewood Community Church in Waupun. He enjoyed time with his family and friends. He enjoyed fishing with grandkids and traveling with good friends. You could always find him at a coffee shop around town. He loved his coffee and root beer barrels.

Orville is survived by his four children: Bruce (Tammy) Rens of Waupun, Carla (Randy) Kamphuis of Brandon, Tracy (Roger) Smerling of Waupun, and Terri (Dan) Deming of Oxford; grandchildren: Brent and Amy Jo, Andrew Wix, Jessica and Candace, Collin (Dezarae) and Nolan; step-grandchildren: Andrew (Alicia) Kamphuis, and Nicholas, Eric, and Meghan; great-grandchildren: Carson, Lucas, Claire; Joey, Aiden, Fraya, and Brylee; a sister, Shirley (Philip) Rasmussen of Fond du Lac; and a brother, Larry (Betty) Rens of Brandon.

Orville was preceded in death by both parents.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 15, 2025 at 11 a.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Pastor Mike Giebink officiating. Burial to follow at Alto Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
