Paula J. Christensen, age 72 of Beaver Dam died peacefully, surrounded by her family on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at her home in Beaver Dam.

Paula was born on July 21, 1937 to Leonard and Pauline (nee Moore) Schmidt in Bode, Iowa. On May 27, 1956, she was united in marriage to Larry Christensen in Algona, Iowa. Prior to retirement and moving to Beaver Dam, Paula worked as a school secretary in Moline, Illinois. Paula was a member of Trinity Church United Methodist and the Beaver Dam Country Club.

Paula is survived by her husband, Larry of Beaver Dam; her children, Laurie (Mike) Lee of Beaver Dam and Danny (Jill) Christensen of Oconomowoc; and four grandchildren, Brandon and Kyle Lee, Tyler and Nicole Christensen. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
Paula was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Pauline Schmidt; her siblings, Vernon (Shirley) Schmidt and Roberta (Mike) Witwicki, and her niece, Diane Witwicki.

A Memorial Service for Paula will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 13, 2010 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd in Beaver Dam with Rev. Charlie Lee officiating. A Memorial Gathering will take place at the funeral home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will be served immediately following the service at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery.
