IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Percival "Tom"
Sprague
October 3, 1926 – October 7, 2011
He was born on Oct 3, 1926 in Wittenburg, WI to the late Thomas and Aleida Sprague. Though they traveled quite a bit in his early years, he graduated from Birnamwood High School in 1943. From there he attended the Army Air Corp Cadet School and proudly served with the 509th in WWII. Shortly after the War, he attended University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point and soon went to work for Wisconsin Power and Light. In his 40 years of service, he moved from the very lowest position to a corner office as Head of Real Estate.
Though he is known as a man who followed strict routines, always rising before dawn and working till long past sunset, his life was anything but normal. He wrote a successful book, but donated all proceeds to the Wisconsin Society of Land Surveyors. He served as president of the State of Wisconsin Examining Board of Architects, Professional Engineers, Designers and Land Surveyors. He was also a member of the Shrine Nomads Motorcycle Group and a thirty-second degree Mason. In his spare time, he was an amateur pilot and lifelong fan of the Green Bay Packers, being a charter contributor for the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame. He traveled across the United States, lecturing in cities like San Francisco and Washington D.C., but his home was always open and filled with those he loved. He never missed a chance to watch his son play football or spend time with his large and loving family.
He is survived by his wife, Orla; his daughter, Susan; his son and wife, Tom and Amy; his four grandchildren Tiffany Zannowski, Claire Sprague, Austin Sprague, and Thomas Sprague.
