IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Phyllis A.
Kirst
December 30, 1929 – April 20, 2020
Phyllis Ann Kirst, 90 of Markesan, peacefully went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, April 20, 2020 at the North Terrace Assisted Living of the Markesan Resident Home.
Phyllis was born on December 30, 1929 in Markesan, the daughter of Louis and Gladys Albright. Phyllis graduated from Markesan High School in 1948 and went on to work as a nursing assistant at Ripon Medical Center and later at Riverdale Manor in Markesan.
In 1951, Phyllis was united in marriage to her faithful and loving husband, Martin. During their 68 year marriage they were able to create many wonderful memories together. They began their marriage living and working on the family farm. In 1968, they built their home on Little Green Lake where they resided together until 2019 when they moved to the Markesan Resident Home. Living on the lake brought a great deal of joy to Phyllis, who enjoyed being outside, fishing, and watching her family enjoy the lake.
Phyllis' greatest joy was her family. She set a wonderful example of being a Christian wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her love and pride for her husband, children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren was always apparent. Phyllis is survived by her husband, Martin of Markesan; her children, Dean (Kris) Kirst of Sun Prairie and Renae (Russ) Fenske of Markesan; her grandchildren, Elizabeth (Phil) Kirst-Goes of Shawano, Lacey (Chris) Bruce of Markesan, and Matthew (Kelsey) Fenske of Denmark; and her great-grandchildren Brayden, Lucas, Huck, Quinn, and Hugo. She is further survived by many other relatives and friends.
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents; her grandson, Michael Kirst; her brother Burton Albright; and other relatives.
Phyllis was a kind and gentle woman who will be remembered for her caring nature, baking her tasty treats, her smile that would light up a room, and being goofy with her great-grandchildren. Most importantly, Phyllis will be remembered for her strong and dedicated faith in God. As a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Manchester, she always looked forward to Sunday services. What a joy it is to know that Phyllis is now with her heavenly Father.
A service for Phyllis will be held at a later date due to the current gathering restrictions.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Markesan Resident Home-North Terrace staff for their loving care of Phyllis.
Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 181 S. Main St., Markesan is honored to be serving the family.
