Rachel Marcella Kahl, age 95 of Markesan and formerly of Kingston, passed away on Monday, February 6, 2017 at the Barrett House.

Visitation for Rachel will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2017 at Kingston United Methodist Church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Rev. Brenda Jahns-Grams will officiate. Burial will take place at Kingston Cemetery.

Rachel was born on July 10, 1921 in Elcho, WI, the daughter of Homer and Anna (Prochnow) Stowell. She attended Ripon Elementary School and graduated from Ripon High School. On March 6, 1943, Rachel was united in marriage to Reuben Kahl in Ripon. She most recently worked at PMI in Markesan. She was a member of Kingston United Methodist Church, where she enjoyed being active with the Women's Society and Bible Study. She also volunteered for the Kingston Fire Department, the Kingston Historical Society and the Green Lake County TRIAD. Rachel was very social and enjoyed being around people. Her free time was spent quilting with St. Mary's Catholic Church Friends & Quilters, hosting Saturday morning coffee, playing Dominos and attending KDM Senior Citizen events.

Rachel is survived by her daughters, Betty (Lester) Hare of Dalton, Barbara (Robert) Steinweg of Wisconsin Dells and Sharon (Ron) Davis of Elm Grove; 10 grandchildren, Jeff (Donna) Hare, Jody (Tim) Knight, John (Neyra) Hare, Janine (Lewie) Drake, Jill (Jason) Just, Joshua (Lydia) Hare, Conrad (Darlyne) Steinweg, Randolph (Liz Schluenz) Steinweg, Michael (Julia) Davis, Kristen Davis; 15 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; 2 sisters, Opal Nummerdor and Hazel Schneider; and brother, Harold "Pete" Stowell.
