Randy J. Block, 64, of Markesan, passed away January 13, 2022 during a trip to Mexico.

Randy was born September 22, 1957 in Iowa, the son of Elbert and Donna (Sullivan) Block. Randy graduated from Markesan High School in 1975. On January 29, 1977 he married Kristin Sixt at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Manchester. Randy went to Moraine Park for culinary arts and worked as a chef at several restaurants. He loved to bake and make cakes on the weekend. Randy also worked at Alliance Laundry Systems in leadership for 38 years and retired in 2020 to spend more time with his family. Randy loved his two cats and dogs, especially his Toby. He also enjoyed the Wisconsin Badgers, gardening, and traveling. Randy loved to plan trips with his family.

Randy is survived by his three children: Jeremy (Maggie) Block, Heather (Will) Brown, and Heidi (Paul) Gayler; four grandchildren: Kendra (Jesse) Block, Destiny (Xavier) Block, Robert Brown, and River Block; parents, Elbert and Donna Block; nine brothers and sisters: Sue Klawitter, Bob (Leah) Block, Rod Block, Joe (Tina) Block, Connie (David) Wanless, Mary (Jeff) Wanless, Anita (Pat) Keegan, Sandy Gough, and Sharon Block; his dog, Toby who passed away two days after his passing; and many nieces and nephews.

Randy was preceded in death by his wife, Kristin in 2020; son-in-law, Tom Gayler; two brothers: Jim and Denny Block; two brothers-in-law: Brian Gough and Bud Klawitter; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Alphonse and Lois Sixt.



Friends and relatives may call on the family on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.



Memorial services for Randy J. Block will be held Saturday, January 29, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Chaplain Rick Erdmann officiating.


Burial will take place at a later date at Phelps Cemetery in Markesan.
