Raymond Van Loo, 95, of Beaver Dam, formerly of Waupun, passed away Friday, March 11, 2016 at The Christian Home & Rehabilitation Center in Waupun.

Raymond was born February 24, 1921 the son of Albert and Ella Riel Van Loo. On March 21, 1950 he married Cornelia Vander Woude in Randolph, WI. Raymond was a kind, dedicated, and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He had a passion for farming and started with his team of horses. After retirement he did lawn care and apartment maintenance with his wife Cornelia at his side. He was an active member of First Reformed Church in Waupun. He enjoyed bible studies and reading his bible. He loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He enjoyed vacationing, fishing, gardening, playing cards and Dominos, camping, and sightseeing. Later in life, he enjoyed sitting outdoors on the swing, going for car rides and ice cream.

Raymond is survived four children: Robert (Rhonda) Van Loo of Watertown, Ruth (Tom) Amberson of Beaver Dam, Cynthia (Douglas) Helmrick of Plover, WI, and Mark (Ann) Van Loo of Beaver Dam; a brother, Alvin (Irene) Van Loo of Randolph; a sister-in-law, Gertrude Van Loo of Waupun; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; 5 step-grandchildren; and 9 great-step-children.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Cornelia Van Loo; a daughter, Eleanor Gibson; two brothers: James Van Loo and Elton Van Loo; two sisters: Josie Van Buren and Dorothy Smits; a step-grandson, Richard Helmrick; and brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law.


Friends and relatives may call on the family on Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at the Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun and on Wednesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.


Funeral services for Raymond Van Loo will be held Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at 11 a.m. at First Reformed Church in Waupun with Rev.Bruce Wilterdink officiating.


Burial will follow at Alto Cemetery.
