Renate A. Meis, age 74 of Beaver Dam, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, December 10, 2014 at home.

Renate was born in Germany on May 11, 1940, the daughter of Johannes and Elfriede (Boettcher) Berndt. In the fall of 1959, she was united in marriage to Henry J. Meis in Germany. Renate worked as the bookkeeper for their family businesses. In her free time, she enjoyed planting flowers, watching CNN, going out to eat with Henry and spending time with her dog.

Renate is survived by her children, Allen (Lisa) Meis of Beaver Dam and Renee (Fred) Welty of Hooper, UT; her grandchildren, Alyssa Meis and Jason Meis, both of Beaver Dam; her aunt, Elviera; her sister-in-law, Marie Woehrer; and further survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Renate was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Henry on March 8, 2014, and other relatives.

A private family service for Renate will be held at a later date.
