Richard “Dick” Gruhn, 81, of Waupun died Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Christian Home where he was residing.
Dick was born March 2, 1931 in Waupun, the son of Albert and Lorine Gerritson Gruhn. He graduated from Waupun High School in 1949 and then served in the U.S. Navy from 1951-1954. On September 29, 1950 he married Delores Harmsen. The couple lived in Waupun most of their married lives. Dick was a master plumber and worked for area plumbers before establishing Gruhn Plumbing of Waupun in 1984 and worked until his retirement in 1997. He was a member of Waupun United Methodist Church in Waupun, and a former member of the American Legion Post in Arizona where the Gruhns wintered for many years.
Dick is survived by his wife, Delores of 61 years of Waupun; a daughter, Terri (Byron) Streekstra of Waupun; a granddaughter, Angela Streekstra and fiancé Aaron Streblow of Waupun; a brother, Gerald (Kathy) Gruhn of Three Lakes, WI; a brother-in-law, Duane (Sue) Harmsen of Waupun; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation:
Friends and relatives may call on the family on Tuesday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4-7 p.m. and on Wednesday at the funeral home from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.
Services:
Funeral services for Richard “Dick” Gruhn will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2012 at 10:30 a.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Rev. Wick Hubers officiating.
Burial:
Burial will follow at Highland Memory Gardens in the town of Trenton
