IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Richard L.
Leistekow
April 9, 1965 – January 11, 2026
Richard "Dick" Lee Leistekow, age 60 of Beaver Dam, passed away on Sunday, January 11, 2026, at St. Mary's Hospital in Madison after a short battle with T-Cell Lymphoma in the bone marrow and spine.
Dick was born in Beaver Dam on April 9, 1965 the son of Gordon and Donna (Wilkinson) Leistekow. He was a 1983 graduate of Beaver Dam High School. Following graduation, he joined the United States Marine Corps and proudly served from 1983 to 1987. He made life long bonds with his Marine brothers. After his time in the Marine Corps, Dick returned home to Beaver Dam and started working as a land surveyor. On September 19, 1992, he was united in marriage to his wife, Kristine Soldner, in Beaver Dam. Dick continued his career as a land surveyor, working throughout Dodge County. There didn't seem to be a spot that he didn't survey. Dick met a lot of people in his life, and maintained connections with so many. He was a kind-hearted soul, always doing whatever was needed of him. In his free time he enjoyed shooting trap, throwing horseshoes, and camping. As a devoted father and grandfather, he valued spending time with family. Which included, game nights on the patio and taking trips to the cabin. He enjoyed planning all of the family trips. As well as, anniversary trips with Kris to wineries in the Midwest. He was an outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. A proud member and vice president of the Beaver Dam Conservationist, which quickly became his "second home."
Dick is survived by his wife, Kristine "Kris" Leistekow; two daughters, Morgan (Steele) Haen and Miya Leistekow; one grandchild, Topher Haen; his parents, Gordon and Donna Leistekow; brothers, Dave (Marita) Leistekow and Keith (Meg) Leistekow; sister, Amy (Jay) Schmuhl; his in-laws, Dave (Pat) Soldner; sister-in-law, Sue ("Mini") Wuesthoff; brothers-in-law, Bob Soldner and Chuck (Bridget) Soldner; a beloved "grand-pup," Burklee; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Leistekow; and other relatives and close friends.
In honoring Dick's wishes, a private family service will be held. A public celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
If desired, memorials in Dick's name may be directed to Baggin' for a Cure in Mayville.
The family would like to thank St. Mary's Hospital for the care they provided throughout this time. A special thank you to Dick's oncology team and favorite nurses on the 5th floor South Wing.
