Richard J. Roets

Richard “Rick” John Roets, age 65, of Waupun, passed away on September 29, 2026.

Rick was born on April 21, 1961, in Waupun, the son of Donald and Gertrude (Feucht) Roets. He began working at Gysbers Grocery Store when he was 15 years old and continued working there after graduating from Waupun High School in 1979.

On April 23, 1983, Rick was united in marriage to Julie Landaal in Waupun. Rick loved the outdoors, especially fishing, duck hunting, and deer hunting. He also enjoyed tinkering and crafting, including making his own fishing baits, and he enjoyed mowing the lawn.

Rick is survived by his wife of 43 years, Julie; sons, Joe (Stacy) Roets and Luke (Bonnie Chamberlain) Roets; granddaughter, Quinnly Roets; mother, Gert Roets; brother, Jeff (Jan) Roets; sister, Bonnie (Randy) Winterhack; sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen (Rick) Hartgerink and Beth (Eric) Hull; and further survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Donald Roets; and other relatives.
