Robert B. Williams, age 68 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully after a long courageous battle with cancer on August 6, 2012 at the Golden Living Center Continental Manor in Randolph.
Robert was born on October 13, 1943 to Frank and Judith (Sprouse) Williams in Charlottesville, Virginia. He would eventually move to Superior Wisconsin with his family where he grew up and graduated high school. In 1962, Robert proudly enlisted into the United States Air Force and would serve his country for four years. In December, 1966 he married his first wife, Lee Hoagland in Superior, Wisconsin. A few years later, he moved his family to Beloit, WI. After 25 years, he moved to Beaver Dam to work maintenance at Hacco in Randolph. Then he married again, to Donna Hollnagel in June of 1994 in Randolph.
Robert was a member of Legion Post #521 of Fox Lake, where he served proudly for many years. Robert also had a love for fishing and where ever there was water, Robert would try to fish in it. He fished all over the state from Kenosha, to Fall River, and especially Fox Lake. He also was an avid photographer where he loved to capture photos of landscapes from his fishing adventures, to weddings of family and friends and even social gatherings. When Robert was not fishing or taking photos, he worked as a DJ for his own company, "Rock-N-Country D.J."
Robert is survived by his loving wife, Donna; children, Gene (Robin) Williams, Mike (Kathy) Williams, Angel Williams; step-children, Roger Heintz (Kim Stengler), John Heintz, Missy Heintz; grandchildren, Johnathan (Brittany) Williams, Jake Williams, Caitlin Williams, Sarah (Mike) Post, Mike Williams, Branden Sanwick, Brad Sanwick; step-grandchildren, James Heintz, Rebecca Heintz, Amanda Heintz; and great-grandchild, Eleanor Post. He is also survived by his former wife, Lee Williams; siblings, Vicki (Terry) Davis, David Williams, Dale (Marilyn) Williams; and sister-in-law, Anita Williams.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Judy Robinson and Audrey Alho; and brothers, Larry Williams and Paul Williams.
A memorial service to celebrate Robert's life will be held on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 2:00 PM at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam with Pastor Ken Prol officiating. A visitation will begin 1 hour prior to the service at Cornerstone. An inurnment will take place at a later date in Greenwood Cemetery in Superior Wisconsin.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Hillside Hospice.
