Robert (Bob) L. Possin, 72, of Brandon, passed away Wednesday, May 14, 2025, peacefully at his home, surrounded by his loved ones, after a swift and brave battle with cancer.
Bob was the son of Lester and Beatrice Possin of Burnett and grew up on their farm in rural Burnett. He attended Waupun High School and graduated in 1970. On June 10, 1972 he married Dorothy Stafford at Immanuel Lutheran Church in North Burnett. After starting their family in the Burnett area, they moved to rural Brandon where they weathered every storm together for the next five decades. Bob worked most of his career as a machinist, retiring from Apache Stainless Equipment in Beaver Dam in 2018. In his younger years, he loved to spend time in the outdoors, visiting State Parks and taking scenic drives with his wife and daughters. In his retirement, he loved working in his custom garage on his classic cars, including a 1973 Mustang, a Thunderbird, and a vintage VW “Cupcake” camper van. He will be remembered for his kind heart, booming laugh, and devotion to his family.
Bob is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 53 years, Dorothy (Stafford) Possin; two daughters: Sarah L. (Evan) Kooiman and Erica J. (Chris) Krug; 5 grandchildren: Isaiah, Micah, Thomas, Evalyn and Benjamin; 3 brothers, Dan (Jing) Possin, Jeff (Lil) Possin, Thomas (Debra) Possin; a sister, Diane (Don) Rens; and numerous nieces and nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him very much.
Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Beatrice; his father, Lester; a sister, Cindy; a brother-in-law, Jack Hoinacki; and many beloved friends and family members over the years.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 21, 2025 at 6 p.m. at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun with Pastor Dennis Overlien officiating. Visitation will be held on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4-6 p.m.
The family would like to thank Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care and the medical team at Froedert Center for Advanced Care for doing everything they could to fight this particularly aggressive cancer.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Bob’s memory to the Cholangiocarcinoma Foundation, a non-profit organization with a mission to find a cure and improve the quality of life for patients with cholangiocarcinoma.
