Robert K. “Bob” Johnson, 87, formerly of Waupun, died Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Lutheran Homes & Health Services in Fond du Lac where he resided for the past two years.




Bob was born May 29, 1926, the son of Ben and Nellie (Dalrymple) Johnson. Bob served proudly in WWII in the U.S. Army. He married Joyce E. Culver of Oakfield on October 29, 1949 in Byron, and the couple lived in Waupun all of their married lives. Bob was a well known mechanic at the Ford Garage in Waupun for many years. He also worked for Edmunds Bus Service, maintaining school buses before retiring in 1995. Bob continued living in Waupun after his wife’s death in 2003, and moved to Tarfa Terrace in Fond du Lac to be near his children. Bob is a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun.

Bob is survived by two sons, David Johnson and Daniel (Darlene) Johnson, both of the Fond du Lac area; a daughter-in-law, Donna Johnson of Fond du Lac; and two grandchildren, Michael Johnson and Molly Johnson.

Bob was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce; three sons, Steven, Michael, and Gerard Johnson; and a sister, Marilyn Hembel.





Visitation:


Relatives and friends may call on the family on Thursday at the church from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service.



Services:


Funeral services for Bob Johnson will be held on Thursday, August 8, 2013 at 11 a.m. at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Waupun with Rev. Michael Wild officiating.



Burial:


Burial will follow at Avoca Cemetery in Oakfield where American Legion Post 210 of Waupun will provide military honors.
