Robert Stephen Schegetz, age 94 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Sunday, October 26, 2025, at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
A memorial gathering for Bob will take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at St. Katharine Drexel Church, 511 S. Spring St., Beaver Dam, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Inurnment will take place at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery, Beaver Dam.
Robert "Bob" was born the son of Joseph and Elizabeth (Hussli) Schegetz on December 17, 1930, in Beaver Dam. Bob was married to Marcia Hyde on December 1, 1951. He was a loving, hardworking father and husband. Bob graduated from Beaver Dam High School. He served in the Navy from 1951–1955 during the Korean War aboard the USS Yorktown. He was a longtime employee of SureFire, Inc., in Horicon, Wisconsin, for 44 years. At one point, he was the president of the Mayville Building Trade Association and served as president of SureFire from June 1, 1976, until December 31, 1978. Bob was a member of the Beaver Dam American Legion Post 146, St. Katharine Drexel Catholic Parish, and the Lions Club. He enjoyed camping with his family, traveling, and golfing, specifically at the Beaver Dam Country Club. After retirement, Bob spent many winters in Casa Grande, Arizona.
He is survived by his four children: Linda Riegle of Greenbrier, Arkansas; Cindy (Tom) Schalinski of Mayville, Wisconsin; Cathy Funcke of Lyndon Station, Wisconsin; and Jeff (Brenda) Schegetz of Beaver Dam.
Bob is survived by eight grandchildren: Jessica (Rob) Burks, Kristin (Greg) Hubertus, Amy (Steve) Dempsey, Melissa (Rob) Blaske, Ben (Amanda) Funcke, Brianna (Chris) Hoel, Brock (Alyssa) Schegetz, and Brandon (Maddy) Schegetz. Bob is also survived by great-grandchildren: Ryder, Isabel, Natalie, Chase, Rylee, Theo, Thomas, William, Atlas, and Otis, Liam, Kinsley, Kennedy, Callahan and Charlotte. He is further survived by two nephews, Jim Schegetz and Dick Schegetz, along with other relatives and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Marcia; brother, Joe (Darlene) Schegetz; nephew, Jerry Schegetz; and his longtime companion, Marilyn Sell and other relatives.
