Roger "Banjo" E. Kanneman, age 71 of Markesan, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2013 at Ripon Medical Center.
Banjo was born on August 26, 1942 in Neshkoro, WI to Arthur and Ella (nee Bartz) Kanneman. He worked in the fertilizer and feed divisions at Landmark Co-op in Markesan for over 30 years. Banjo always enjoyed spending time outside, especially tending to his huge garden, visiting with people and grilling out. He was very generous of his time and talents; he never hesitated to help anyone and could often be found fixing things. He loved his grandchildren dearly and enjoyed sharing stories with them.
Banjo is survived by his four children, Tami (Tim) Hammann of Waupun, Troy "Trotski" (Heather) Kanneman of Friesland, Frank (Peggy) Kanneman of Neshkoro and Tricia (Joel) Nicol of Missouri; his grandchildren, Tara, John, Miranda, Ashley, Quintin, Austin, Thea, Adrian, Christopher and Damian; his great-grandson, Michael; and his siblings, David (Karen) Kanneman of Ripon, Avis Luedke of Neshkoro, Doris Domiter of Oshkosh and Edna Blaski of Milwaukee. He is further survived by the mother of his children, Annette Cooper of Missouri, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a granddaughter, Kora, eight brothers, five sisters and other relatives.
A Funeral Service for Banjo will be held on Friday, September 20, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 181 S. Main St., Markesan with Chaplain Pamela Werth officiating.
Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 19, 2013 from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Cornerstone and also on Friday, prior to the service at Cornerstone, beginning at 10:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Wautoma Union Cemetery, Waushara County.
