Roger L. Blase

Roger L. Blase, age 87, left this world on Saturday, August 22, 2026.

Roger was born October 13, 1938 in Waupun, the son of Robert and Grace Van Egtern Blase. A graduate of American School in Chicago, Roger also attended Brandon, Waupun, and Rosendale High Schools prior to graduation. Roger enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1956 and proudly served his country until 1960, meeting his wife, Judie, during his service. The couple married on November 8, 1958 in Columbus, OH, then settled in the Waupun area following his discharge, remaining there for the rest of their married lives. Roger spent 30 years working for Redeker Dairy of Brandon before retiring, having earlier worked on various farms and trucking cattle. In his free time, Roger enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a member of Union-Congregational Church in Waupun.

Roger is survived by his children, Brian (Christine) Blase, Eric (Becky) Blase, and Tracy (Jenny Babcock) Blase; seven grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren; and is further survived by other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Judie, in 2004; two infant sons, Jamie Allen and John Roger; a brother, Lester Blase; a sister, Delores Vande Slunt; a grandson, Maxwell Blase; and other relatives.

A memorial gathering for Roger will take place on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Union-Congregational Church in Waupun from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the memorial service at 11:00 a.m with Pastor Jacob Nault officiating. Military honors will be provided by American Legion Post 210 of Waupun.
