Obituary
Roger R. Herbst, age 68 of Portage and formerly of Beaver Dam, passed away on Thursday, December 11, 2014 at Northview Gardens in Portage, where he resided for the past eight years.
Roger was born on January 2, 1946 in Beaver Dam to Roland and Anne (Eckert) Herbst. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1965. He served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War from 1966 - 1970. He worked at Weyenberg Shoe Factory and was a former member of the VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and good times with friends. His favorite thing was feeding the wildlife in his backyard.
Roger is survived by his brother, Donald (Debra) Herbst of Beaver Dam; his niece, Rebecca (special friend, Ashley Welak) Herbst and great-niece Morgan Bronk of Beaver Dam; his nephew, Matthew (Denise) Herbst and great-niece Ava Herbst of Beaver Dam and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Gathering for Roger will be held on Saturday, December 20, 2014 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam. Inurnment will take place at a later date at St. Peter's Catholic Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
