Roland E. Poetter, 87, of the town of Lowell, passed away on Saturday, April 17, 2010, at Charleston House Assisted Living in Beaver Dam
Roland was born on Nov. 12, 1922, in the town of Lowell; a son of Otto and Minnie (nee Affeldt) Poetter. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School with the class of 1940. On Aug. 27, 1946, he was united in marriage to Hilda H. Meier at Trinity Lutheran Church in Reeseville. He was a member of St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Roland and his wife owned and operated a dairy farm in the town of Lowell.
Roland is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Hilda; two daughters, Lois Masche of Beaver Dam; Patricia (Douglas) Lauersdorf of Burnett; four grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Roland was preceded in death by his parents; one son-in-law, Eddie Masche; one grandson, Matthew Masche; and one sister, Elda Firari.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 20, 2010, at 11 a.m. at St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 300 West St., Beaver Dam. The Rev. Philip Heyer will officiate. Burial will be in Lowell Cemetery. Visitation will preceed the service beginning at 10 a.m. at the church.
Memorials in Roland's name may be directed to the St. Stephen's Church organ fund.
