Obituary

Roland "Rollie" Schweisthal, age 82 of Beaver Dam, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 3, 2013 at the Golden Living Center in Beaver Dam.

Rollie was born the son of Valentine and Florence (nee Lake) Schweisthal on April 14, 1930 in Faribault, MN. After graduation from Faribault High School, he came to Beaver Dam and started working at Metalfab. He was a truck driver for 44 years. Rollie served in the United States Army in the Korean War as a Sergeant from October 1951 through July 1953. On June 4, 1966 he was united in marriage to Jean Buske in Beaver Dam.

Rollie enjoyed deer, duck and pheasant hunting, as well as playing golf. He was a member of the Columbus Country Club for many years. He won several trophies. He also won The President Cup trophy at the Metalfab Closed Open at Old Hickory. Rollie was the recipient of a Safe Driving award from personnel manager and safety director of Metalfab's insurance carrier. During his retirement, he enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center playing cards and pool.

Rollie is survived by his wife Jean of 46 years; his children, Nancy Buss, Mary (Scott) Berg, Gary (Laura) Schweisthal, Darcy (Mary) LaVeau and Gail (Keith) Peters; his sister-in-law, Alice Schweisthal of Fairbault, MN; his grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

In honoring Rollie's wishes, private family services will be held.

The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Rollie's doctors and all the staff at Golden Living Center for his care and a special thank you to Deacon Ed Cody. "Thank you to everyone at the Senior Center for your concerns of Rollie."
