Ronald Edward Braun, age 71, a lifelong resident of Beaver Dam, died peacefully on Friday, November 27, 2009 at home. Ron was born on June 19, 1938 to Herman and Helen (nee Lemanski) Braun in Beaver Dam. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1956. On May 14, 1966 he married his wife of 43 years, Carol E. Korth, at St. John's Ev. Lutheran Church in Juneau, WI. Most of his working career, he was involved in the trucking industry as a semi driver and with various trucking companies, including Hanefeld Brothers Trucking Company, Specialty Foods, Bird Trucking Company and Westshore Transit. He enjoyed biking, fishing, going to the YMCA and working out. He especially enjoyed spending time and doing things with his two grandsons, Kaden and Gavin, and his little buddy, Scooter the Cat.

Ron is survived by his wife, Carol of Beaver Dam; his son, Steve (Becky Hamilton) Braun of Beaver Dam; his two grandsons, Kaden and Gavin; two sisters, Angeline Hanefeld of Burnett and Charmaine (Jerry) Uherka of Beaver Dam; three brothers, Eldon (Shirley) Braun, Robert (Betty) Braun, both of Beaver Dam, and Dennis (Mary) Braun of Horicon; and two brother-in-laws, Calvin (Pearl) Korth of Burnett and Kenneth Korth of Beaver Dam. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his father and mother-in-law, Ted and Ethel Korth; his grandparents; one brother, Kenneth Braun; one sister, Margaret Stark; two brother-in-laws, Earl Stark and Wilton Hanefeld; two sister-in-laws, Virginia Braun and Nancy Korth; four nephews, Russell Hanefeld, Mark Uherka, Michael Uherka and Tony Braun; and one niece, Cindy Hanefeld.

Visitation for Ron will take place on Tuesday, December 1, 2009 from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam. A Funeral Service will be held at 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Mark Jensen officiating and a luncheon will immediately follow the funeral at the funeral home. Inurnment will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam.
