Ronald R. Vande Zande

Ronald R. Vande Zande, age 83 of Waupun, passed away on Wednesday, December 17, 2025.

Ron was born on May 8, 1942, in Fond du Lac, the son of Harley and Hazel (Kastein) Vande Zande. Ron attended Monroe Grade School for eight years and graduated from Waupun High School in 1960. Following graduation, he farmed for 9 years and then was employed at Waupun Equipment, where he drove truck for 42 years. On May 23, 1962, he was united in marriage to Jean Schouten at Alto Reformed Church. The couple resided in the Waupun area throughout their married life. Ron sang with the Inspirationals and later with the Revelations Quartet, Friesland Men’s Chorus, and Alto Reformed Church Men’s Chorus and Mixed Chorus for many years. Along with his wife Jean, he participated in many funerals and weddings. Ron was a member of Alto Reformed Church, where he served as an elder and deacon. He enjoyed hunting, golfing, and playing softball.

Ron is survived by his wife, Jean Vande Zande of Waupun; his children, Kelvin (Deb) Vande Zande of Waupun, Joel (Sandy) Vande Zande of Alto, and Julene (Mike) Beer of Waupun; eight grandchildren, Ashely (Derek) Larson, Matthew Loewer, Joshua Schill, Carissa Schill, Cory (Shawna) Starbird, Bradyn Vande Zande, Brady Beer, and Kiley Beer; five great-grandchildren; a sister, Beverly Kowalski of Waupun; siblings-in-law, Patricia Vande Zande and Betty (Larry) Guenther; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Harvard, Donald, and Roy Vande Zande; and a mother and father-in-law, James and Henrietta Schouten; and other relatives.

Visitation for Ron will take place on Sunday, December 21, 2025 at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home from 2-4 p.m. and on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Alto Reformed Church from 10-11 a.m. Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025 at Alto Reformed Church at 11 a.m with Pastor Randy McDaniel officiating.
