Ronald W. Skalitzky, 59, passed away unexpectedly at his home in Albuquerque, N. M. on Tuesday, July 1, 2008.

Ron was born on Sept. 28, 1948 in Beaver Dam to Lester and Joyce (Grace) Skalitzky. He attended Beaver Dam schools and graduated in 1966. He was then drafted and served his country in the United States Army, first as an MP and later completed a tour in Panama. He then continued his career with the military as a sound specialist for the United States Army Band, stationed in Washington, D.C. assisting with performances for government functions, Presidential Inaugurations, special events and studio recordings. His talent as a drummer and his love of music was respected by all who knew and loved him. It was his lifelong dream to spend his retirement in New Mexico.

Ron is survived by his mother, Joyce Crinion, Beaver Dam; his son, John Skalitzky of LaCrosse; five sisters, Janet (Bob) Hollander and Michelle Bubolz of Portage, Lisa Gassner of Fond du Lac, Terri Knaup, Tracey (Joe) Ferron both of Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his fathers, Lester in 1951 and Jack Crinion in 1996; his son, Cody in 1994; grandparents and other relatives.

A memorial service for Ronald will be held on Tuesday, July 8, 2008 at 5:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam with Rev. Dr. Jack Harrison officiating. Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Per Ronald's wishes, he will be inurned at a later date with his son Cody in Alma Center, Wisconsin.
