Obituary
Ruby A. Prieve, age 94 of Beaver Dam, died peacefully on Sunday, September 6, 2009 surrounded by her family at Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam.
Ruby was born on August 21, 1915 near Randolph in Columbia County to Robert and Clara (nee Paterson) Kovalaske. She was united in marriage to Alexander Prieve Sr. on October 5, 1935. Ruby worked at Kopplin Manufacturing in Fox Lake and Green Giant in Beaver Dam for many years. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts projects, but her true gift came in painting. Ruby was an excellent homemaker and took great pleasure in cooking and baking. Some of her hobbies included watching and cheering on the Chicago Cubs and playing bingo. In her earlier years, she wouldn't miss many of the bingo events going on at various churches and halls in Beaver Dam. Ruby was a people person and her wonderful personality will be remembered by her family and all who knew her. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be dearly missed by her family.
Ruby is survived by her children, Betty (Arnold) Wodill of Beaver Dam, Robert (Sharon) Prieve of Mesa, AZ and Dennis (Ortega Oliver) Prieve of Chicago, IL; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, a daughter-in-law, Kathleen Prieve of Wyocena and a sister-in-law, Dorothy Kovalaske of Randolph. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Alexander Prieve Sr. in 1979, two sons, Alexander Prieve Jr. in 1945 and Marvin Prieve in 2007, a grandson, Richard Wodill in 1997 and three brothers.
A Memorial Service for Ruby will be held on Thurs. September 10, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam with Rev. Paul Stratman officiating. A Memorial Gathering will also take place on Thurs. September 10, 2009 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of Service at the Funeral Home. A luncheon will immediately follow the Service at the funeral home. Private family inurnment will take place at Black Creek Cemetery in the Town of St. Marie, Green Lake County.
