Russell H. Drake, age 78 of Beaver Dam, died peacefully at home on Monday, February 11, 2008.

Russell was born on May 21, 1929, in Beaver Dam, to Russell and Linda (nee Pettack) Drake. He graduated from Beaver Dam High School in 1947 and later served his country in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. On November 27, 1955 he married his loving wife Jacqueline Sabatke at First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Russell worked for Mercury Marine for 37 years in Beaver Dam and later in Fond du Lac as a Service Manager. He was a member of First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. He loved to spend time at Pioneer R.V. Park in Lake Delton, and during the winter months, at River View R.V. Park in Arizona. Russell enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards and traveling, especially their trips to Mexico. Spending time with his family was a top priority and Russell cherished the time they were able to share together throughout the years.

Russell is survived by his wife, Jacqueline "Jackie" Drake of Beaver Dam; his children, Diane Drake of Edina, MN, David (Lynn) Drake of Beaver Dam, Dale Drake of Appleton, WI and Donna (David) Munsch of Salina, Kansas; three grandchildren, Ben & Emma Drake and Amber (Will) Schmidt; two sisters, Phyllis and Barbara; three brothers, Robert, Richard and Roger; his brother-in-law, Don (Doris) Sabatke; his sister-in-law, Sharon Ehrmeyer; and his father-in-law, Ray Sabatke. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Kenneth, two brother-in-laws, and his mother-in-law.

A Memorial Service for Russell will be held on Saturday, February 16, 2008 at Twelve o'clock Noon at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd, Beaver Dam with Rev. Mark Jensen officiating. Visitation will also be held on Sat. February 16, 2008 from 10:00a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow the service at the funeral home. Inurnment with Military Honors will take place at a later date at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Hillside Hospice, American Cancer Society or First Ev. Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam.
