Ruth (Berndt) Belling, 92, of Burnett, died Saturday, August 29, 2015 at Marvin’s Manor in Waupun.

Ruth was born June 12, 1923 the daughter of Edwin and Louise Schmeling Kirchoff. On November 14, 1942 she married Lester Berndt at North Burnett Immanuel Lutheran Church. On May 11, 1988 she married Arnold Belling. Lester preceded her in death in 1974 and Arnold in 1998. Ruth was a former Sunday School teacher and a member of the Ladies Aide at North Burnett Immanuel Lutheran Church. She enjoyed the many telephone calls and visits from friends and relatives. She also enjoyed crocheting numerous afghans and doilies for various friends and relatives.

Ruth is survived by two children: Louise (Paul) Zamzow of Ripon, and Darwin (Sue) Berndt of Burnett; grandchildren: Becky Berndt (friend Greg Kappell), John Zamzow, Jerry (Susan) Zamzow, and Jay (Stephanie) Zamzow; great-grandchildren: Jonathan Duer (friend Pam Baker), Kimberly Duer (friend Tim Hage), Tabitha Sass, Morgan Zamzow, Michael Zamzow, Ava Zamzow, Christopher Zamzow, and Aaron Zamzow; great-great-grandchildren: Wyatt, Leon, and Leanna; step-children: Fern Thiede, Joan (Ray) Schultz, Sharon Makurat, and Judy (Alan) Beyer; numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Katie Kirchoff; and numerous nieces and nephews.


Friends and relatives may call on the family on Monday at Werner-Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of service.


Funeral services for Ruth Belling will be held Tuesday, September 1, 2015 at 11 a.m. at North Burnett Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Jonathan Szczesny officiating.


Burial will follow at North Burnett Cemetery.
