Ruth Murial Bremer was born to Clarence and Jesse (Rickell) Hensel in the Town of Green Lake, Green Lake County, WI on December 22, 1918. Ruth passed away while living at the Barrett House in Markesan, WI on Friday, March 9, 2018. She was united in marriage to Hale C. Bremer on January 27, 1940 on the Hensel home farm. They were wed for 64 years until Hale's death in 2004. Ruth attended the Shady Nook School just down the road from the home farm and later the Markesan District Schools. In the early years of their marriage, they lived in Fairwater and Milwaukee until joining Ruth's parents' farming operation. Ruth worked at the Fairwater Canning Plant in the early years and was a devoted homemaker. Ruth was baptized and confirmed at the Methodist Church by Center House, and until her death was a member of the Markesan United Methodist Church.

Ruth is survived by her children and spouses: Jack (Sandi) Bremer, Green Lake and Roy (Sasha) Bremer, Markesan; 4 grandchildren, Jodi (JJ) Streicher-Bremer of Madison, Dean (Deanne) Bremer of Markesan, Roy Bremer of Markesan, and Ana Bremer of San Antonio, TX; 5 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, and one sister, Vivian Zanto in 1973.

Visitation for Ruth will be held on Monday, March 12, 2018 at Markesan United Methodist Church from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Ethan Larson officiating. Burial will take place at Center House Cemetery, Town of Green Lake.

A memorial in Ruth's name is being established. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers of Hospice Hope and the Barrett House, Pastor Ethan Larson and special members of their church for the loving care they extended to Ruth.
