Obituary

Ruth M. Cook, 93 of Beaver Dam, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Easter Sunday, April 5, 2015.

Ruth was born on July 7, 1921 in Beaver Dam to Franklin and Clara (Reinke) Genrich. Ruth married Dean Cook Jr. December 7 in Beaver Dam. She was a lifelong member of St. Stephen's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Beaver Dam. Ruth and her husband managed Old Hickory, and owned Charlie Brown's Tavern. She was often sought out while working at J.C.Penny's drapery department. She will always be known for her phenomenal cooking. Ruth grew and canned her own vegetables. She had a tremendous love for bingo and sporting events.

Ruth is survived by her children, Lois Cook and Dean (Susan) Cook III; grandchildren, Jason Cook, Christal Bruesch, and Chuck Cook; four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; siblings Doris Selk, Leora Day, Norma Rieman, Eunice Burchardt, Franklin Genrich, and Fredrick Genrich.

A funeral service for Ruth will be held on Friday, April 10, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephen's Ev. Lutheran Church, 300 West St., Beaver Dam with Rev. Paul Stratman officiating. Visitation will be held prior to the service at church, beginning at 9:30 a.m.
