Ruth Naomi (Handshy) Guderski passed away peacefully on July 10, 2023 at the Markesan Resident Home.

She was born on June 19, 1935 to William and Martha (Dallman) Handshy. She was a 1953 graduate of Markesan High School. On May 7, 1955, Ruth married John Guderski at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Markesan. They were farmers until 2001 when they sold the family farm. Ruth and John then moved to rural Princeton.

Ruth was a farmer and homemaker her entire life. She worked side-by-side farming with her husband, John. She loved her family. She was a charter member of both the Markesan Sno-Drifters and the Green Lake Terrace Sno-Streakers snowmobile clubs. She enjoyed racing snowmobiles, riding with her family, and countless trail rides with their friends. Ruth was a great sewer and created items such as her own wedding dress, clothes for the family, making Barbie doll clothes for the girls for Christmas presents, and dresses for her granddaughters. She would make dozens of Christmas cookies each year and give them away to family and friends. She enjoyed watching her grandson and great-grandson race snowmobiles and go-karts. She was very proud of her grandson, Michael, and his achievements racing cars, even including her final days, always inquiring how Michael did at his most recent race. Ruth had a tremendous garden to feed her family. When the kids were grown, she had excess and ran a small farm side stand. Her specialty was her "secret" variety of sweet corn.

Ruth is survived by her husband, John Guderski; their chlldren, John Guderski (Princeton), Cathie (Jim) Jackowski (Markesan), Susan (Jim) Krueger (Princeton), Dick (Christine) Guderski (Markesan), and Dennis Guderski (Manchester); grandchildren, Chrissy (Jason) Michels, Billy (Charlene) Jackowski,  Dusty (Ashley) Jackowski, Tim (Tania) Krueger, Mimi (Mike) Pontarelli, Amy (Matt) Firkus, Tricia (Mike) Groskreutz, Dani Hinz, and Michael Guderski; great grandchildren, Madelyn, Eli, Quinn, and Avery Michels; Zoey, Shiloh, Zander and Jacee Jackowski; Brynn and Remi Jackowski; Bella and Mikey Pontarelli; Hadley and Gabe Firkus; Miles and Memphis Groskreutz; her sister, Pauline Hammerling, brother, Billy (Shirlene) Handshy; sisters-in-law, Arlene Handshy, Eva Astrach, Lucy (Bob) Severson, Janice Guderski; brother-in-law, Jim Guderski, Joe (Marilyn) Guderski, Tom (Colleen) Guderski, and Mark Guderski; and further survived by other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her son, Michael Guderski; parents, William and Martha Handshy; father- and mother-in-law, John and Helen Guderski; brothers, Jack Handshy and Eugene Handshy; brothers-in-law, Bill Hammering, John Astrach, Stan Guderski and Alvin Guderski; sisters-in-law, Pat (Orville) Biesenthal and Frances Mattson; and other relatives.
