Obituary

Sally J. Remmen, age 67 of Reeseville, passed away at home on Wednesday, March 5, 2025.

A memorial service for Sally Remmen will be held at Watertown Care Center, Watertown, Wisconsin, on Saturday, May 24th, 2025, at 1:00pm. Clergy from Elmbrook Church, Brookfield, Wisconsin, will officiate the service. Interment at Highland Memorial Park Cemetary, New Berlin, Wisconsin, will follow at a later date.

The former Sally Jo Matzdorf was born on May 12th, 1957, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Jean Matzdorf (Powell) (nee Wieland) and Roy Matzdorf. She was united in marriage to Brian Remmen on August 13, 1999, in Juneau, Wisconsin. Sally was preceded in death by her parents: Jean Matzdorf (Powell) and Roy Matzdorf; and her brother Greg Matzdorf.

She is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Brian Remmen, and her step-children:  James (Beth) Remmen, Sara (Clint) Semrau, Kayla (Aaron) Sterman, and Melissa (David) Lauber. She is also survived by her step-grandchildren:  Sadie Sterman, Luke Semrau, Jenson Remmen, Cora Semrau, Lexi Semrau, Preston Remmen, Colton Sterman, Donovan Remmen. Sally is also survived by her sister, Meredith Bahr, of Raleigh, North Carolina; and her sister-in-law, Cheryl (Ralph) Kuba, of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.  Sally was well cared for in recent years for by her dedicated caregiver and family friend, Jan Jaehnke, of Beaver Dam, Wisconsin.

Sally was employed for over 20 years at Helgesen Industries in Hartford, Wisconsin, in the capacity of Brake Press Operator.

Sally was an avid fan of mystery movies and shows and she enjoyed bird-watching from her home in Reeseville, Wisconsin, where she and her husband Brian lived for 25 years. She loved caring for the family cats;  Sally was a life-long friend to all living creatures and she cared for many different pets in her home throughout her life.  Sally had a fun-loving personality; her quick wit kept a conversation light and jovial.  She will be greatly missed by her husband Brian, her family and friends and all who knew her.
