Obituary

Sandra Marie Arneson, 68 of Juneau, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family after a courageous battle with cancer on July 10, 2024.

A memorial gathering for Sandra will be held on Thursday, July 18 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd., Beaver Dam from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.

She was the thirteenth child of fourteen born to George and Florence Cramer. She graduated from Dodgeland High School in 1974. She was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gordon Arneson, on January 25, 1975. They lived in Juneau most of their married life, raising four children. Sandy worked many years as the manager of Kwik Trip until 1993. She worked over 20 years at the Dodge County Sheriff's Department as a correctional officer until her retirement. After retirement, she worked parttime at Prairie View Elementary as a custodian. Her favorite thing was seeing all of the kids, and at the end of the school year she brought them ice cream to celebrate their last day of school.

During retirement, she enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, playing ball with her beloved pup Gizmo, bird watching, and helping others. She truly was one of a kind and saw the good in everyone. She would go out of her way to make everyone happy and touched many lives. She had a very strong belief for family and instilled that into her kids and grandkids – "Family first, no matter what happened." She would send out weekly messages to the family to keep everyone connected because she knew how hectic life could be and wanted them to still connect.

She loved spending time with her grandchildren and making lasting memories with them, whether it was watching them play sports, talking in the "She Shed", going to the movies or taking road trips to Florida. They took an annual family vacation to Neff's Friendship Lodge in Menominee, MI. She was so proud and full of joy for each of her grandchildren and made sure they each knew just how much she loved them.

Survivors include her husband, Gordy Arneson; children, Matthew, Gregory (Carey), Sarah (Eric) Davison, and Chad Arneson; beloved pup, Gizmo; grandchildren, Autumn (Demetrius Grueneberg) Thompson, Hunter Thompson, Ashley Davison, Callie Davison, Sean Arneson, Emma Liedtke; grandpup, Ruby; sisters, Carol Genz of Appleton, Audrey (George) Goetz of Villages, FL, Sharon Haase, Karen (Dan) Banes, Susan Kelm, all of Beaver Dam; brothers, Richard (Patty) Cramer of Juneau and Alan (Jean) Cramer of Waukesha; sisters-in-law, Marge Cramer of Mayville and Lois Cramer of Beaver Dam; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Florence Cramer; siblings and in-laws, Tom (Bonnie) Cramer, Robert Cramer, Mike Cramer, Al (Judy) Kozcka, Barb Cramer, Pat (Jerry Tobak) Cramer, Robert Haase; in-laws, Claire and Edith Arneson; and other relatives.
