Obituary

Scott Raymond Johnson, age 66, died on October 1, 2025 in Berlin, Wisconsin.

Visitation for Scott will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 181 S. Main St., Markesan from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Kingston Cemetery.

Scott was born on June 17, 1959 at the Chanute Air Force Base Hospital in Rantoul, Illinois. He was a miracle, roughly doubling doctor's life expectancy estimates, a precious gift to all who were blessed to know him. Scott always greeted you with a smile, handshake or hug. He was a natural for the role of Best Man at his brother's and sister-in-law's wedding.

Scott attended several special education schools in Green Lake County before going to work for Fox River Industries in Berlin and Diverse Options in Ripon, Wisconsin. From 1996 to 2020, he faithfully filled the hospital vending machines for Community Health Network.

Scott loved to dance whenever he had a chance.  He would dance at parties sponsored by his place of business, social organizations, or just listening to records in his room.  In his spare time, Scott enjoyed drawing, water coloring and being with family and friends.  As an adult, he was active in sports through the Green Lake County Special Olympics participating in bocce, bowling, softball, basketball skills and track and field.

Scott enjoyed traveling. First, it was with his Air Force family throughout the United States and later with Able Trek Tours. Although most trips were taken in Wisconsin, one trip required flying to Florida. Knowing that Scott had never flown, his brother Norm scheduled a ride for him on the EAA's (Experimental Aviation Association) Ford Tri-motor plane in Oshkosh. He enjoyed the ride and the flight to Florida. Scott's favorite theater was the Crystal Grand in Wisconsin Dells.

Scott was preceded in death by his father, retired Major Norman Arthur Johnson and mother, Klotylda Hyacinth (nee Kuznierz) Johnson.  He is survived by his brother Norm Johnson and his sister-in-law Sue (Ustruck) Johnson along with extended family and friends.

Deepest appreciation goes to the caring SSM Hospice team, as well as the loving Brown Wilcox staff, for their excellent care provided over the past year.

If desired, memorial contributions can be directed to Green Lake County Special Olympics.
