Sharon Alma (Semerau) Pless, age 80, of Princeton was called home on Friday July 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 15, 1944, in Wausau to Elmer and Alma (Artus) Semerau. She was united in marriage to Rev. Robert Pless on August 15, 1970.
A funeral service will be held at St. John's Lutheran Church, 226 S Clinton St, Princeton, on Saturday July 26 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be immediately before the service beginning at 9:00 AM with a reception to follow the service. The service will be live streamed at sjlprinceton.com/page/videos. Burial will take place at Memory Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
Sharon moved to Milwaukee in 1962 and took a job with Northwestern National Insurance Company. Sharon and Bob met in Milwaukee in 1965 and were married at St. James Lutheran Church in Milwaukee in 1970. In 1972, Bob accepted a call to Our Saviour's Lutheran Church in Bismarck, ND where they served for five years. In 1977, Bob accepted the call to St. John's Lutheran Church in Princeton. Sharon joined the Green Lake Conference Center in Green Lake in 1981 and worked in their accounting department for over 44 years until her passing. She was active in church and was an excellent bowler in her younger years. Sharon and Bob enjoyed traveling and cruising with family and friends; they especially enjoyed trips to Door County. She loved watching and supporting the Packers, Brewers and Badgers. She had a special love and cherished her visits and time with her great nephews and niece Grant, Claire and Owen (whom she referred to as "my little boy").
Sharon is mourned by her husband Bob, who together would have celebrated 55 years of marriage in August. She is further survived by her brother Gary (Jackie) Semerau, her sister Audrey (Vaughn) Pengelly and her sister Paulene (Douglas) Orton as well as sister-in-law Mary (Dr. Felipe) Qui and sister-in-law Glenna Pless. Sharon was blessed with loving nieces and nephews Stacy (Eric) Steinbach, Holly (Jay) Totzke, Ryan (Lucie) Semerau, Kyle (Jodi) Semerau, Kelsey (Andrew) Dunlavy, Michael Semerau, Michelle (Adam) Breunig, Heather (Alex) Zagrodnik, Leah Orton and Marcus Orton. Sharon enjoyed her great nieces and nephews Emma, Ethan and Sadie Steinbach, Maddie and Aiden Totzke, Connor, Liam and Ciaran Semerau, Isabella, Zander and Ryder Semerau, Brenden and Garrison Dunlavy, Grant and Claire Breunig, and Owen Zagrodnik.
She is preceded in death by her parents Elmer and Alma; in-laws Pastor W.O. and Dorothea (Nohos) Pless; brother-in-law Richard Pless, brother-in-law Claire Senft and sister-in-law Carla Senft.
