Shawn Lindegarde

Shawn E. Lindegarde, age 46, passed away at home on Thursday, January 8, 2026, surrounded by family members.

Shawn was born in Madison on August 5, 1979, the son of Ken “Charlie” and Ruth (Oosterwyk) Lindegarde. He was a 1997 graduate of Waterloo High School and lived on the family farm all his life. Shawn was a proud member of 4-H and was a member for over 10 years. He was involved in many community organizations, including the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI), and was also active in his church in Lowell. In his free time, he enjoyed building computers, gaming, traveling, and caring for his dogs and cats. Shawn loved and cherished the time he spent with his mom, Ruth, as her caretaker.

Shawn is survived by his mother, Ruth; two sisters and one brother, Martina (John) Stanton, Penny (Craig) Seaver, and Charles “Chip” Lindegarde; eight nieces and nephews, Corey and Ryan (fiancée, Taylor) Stanton, Brendan Seaver, Conrad (Lourdes) and Gilliana Schaalma, Dylan, Austin, and Alexandria Lindegarde; brother-in-law Joel Schaalma; and is further survived by great-nieces and nephews, uncles and aunts, and other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Ken; sister, Melissa Schaalma; grandparents; and other relatives.

A memorial gathering for Shawn will be held on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home, Waupun, from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. A memorial service will take place at the funeral home at 4:00 p.m. with Pastor Renae Dymond officiating.
