Sherborn "Sonny" A. Reuter, age 74 of Beaver Dam, died peacefully surrounded by his loving family on February 2, 2009 at the Hillside Manor in Beaver Dam. Sonny was born on August 25, 1934 in Milwaukee to Sherborn and Erna (nee Wolff) Reuter. He later served his country in the United States Army. In 1969, he was united in marriage to Marcella "Boots" (nee Hamilton) in Beaver Dam. Sonny worked as a forklift driver for many years at Maysteel in Mayville and retired in 1999. He was a car enthusiast and loved to watch NASCAR and was a huge fan of Tony Stewart. He loved to snowmobile and watch football and baseball. Sonny was a huge fan of music and especially loved to "plug" a jukebox anytime he was out. He was a wonderful father and a loving grandfather. The time he spent with and the loved he showed his grandchildren will always be something they will cherish.

Sonny is survived by his children, Penny (Brad) Straseske, Shelby (Peter) Weber, Carrie (David) Slager, Terrie (Clayton) Braaksma, Cindy (John) White, Mindy (David) Wild all of Beaver Dam, Jodi (Scott) Kuss of Hustisford and John (Sheila) Steen of Waupun, 23 grandchildren of which he was especially close to Katelyn, Cody, Jillian and Wyatt, 2 brothers, Jim (Nancy) Reuter of Montello and Harold (Pat) Reuter of Oxford. He is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Sonny is preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marcella in 1995 and 2 brothers, Joe and Ronald Reuter.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, February 6, 2009 at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 135 Keller Blvd. in Beaver Dam at 1:00p.m. with Rev. Dr. Jack Harrison officiating. In honoring Sonny's wishes a casual memorial gathering will also be held on Friday, February 6, 2009 from 11:00a.m. until the time of Service at 1:00p.m. at the Funeral Home. Entombment will take place at Oakwood Cemetery in Beaver Dam following the Service.

The family would like to extend a warm and heartfelt thank you to the staff at Hillside Manor and Hillside Hospice. Their loving care of Sonny and his family over the past difficult days was greatly appreciated. To show their appreciation they would ask that any memorials be directed to either Hillside Manor or Hillside Hospice.
