Sherry Oosterhouse

Sherry Jane Oosterhouse, age 75, passed away peacefully on June 29, 2026, at the Christian Home Care and Rehab Center in Waupun, Wisconsin.

Sherry was born on March 16, 1951, to Garrit and Elsie (Buwalda) Levey. A graduate of Central Wisconsin Christian High School in 1969, she married Harvey Oosterhouse on July 19 of that same year. Together, they raised two children, Paul and Paula, while Sherry pursued her passion for helping others. She taught smoking cessation classes and served as a counselor for Alcoholics Anonymous. Her dedication to service extended to her work as an EMT for Brooks Ambulance before embarking on a nursing career. Sherry retired as a labor and delivery registered nurse from Waupun Memorial Hospital and as a podiatry nurse at DeVries Foot Care Clinic in Waupun.

Sherry found joy in traveling, especially to destinations near water, whether it was a lake, river, or ocean. She shared her love of music by singing with the Pella Praise Band for many years. A devoted animal lover, her greatest love was her family, particularly her four grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 57 years, Harvey; her son Paul (Marie) Oosterhouse; her brothers Jim (Sharon) Levey and Robert (Deb) Levey; her grandsons Paul Anthony Oosterhouse (Emma) and Nathan Preston (Meagan); her granddaughters Alexys Oosterhouse (Ian) and Shelbee Preston; as well as numerous other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Garrit and Elsie; her sister Audrey (Alton) Greenfield; and her daughter Paula Sue Preston.

A celebration of Sherry’s life will be held on August 29, 2026, at West End Park, 200 Beaver Dam St., Waupun, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. May her memory bring comfort to all who knew her.
