Sheryl Lyn Cotterill, age 57, passed away Monday, July 15th, 2024 at Ripon Hospital.

Visitation for Sheryl will take place on Monday, July 22, 2024, at Markesan United Methodist Church, 74 W. Catherine Street, Markesan, from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Joseph Christopher officiating. Burial will take place at Markesan Memorial Cemetery.

She was born on December 25, 1966, the daughter of Walter Jr. and Carolyn (Schwandt) Plagenz.  On October 6th, 2012, she married the love of her life John Cotterill, at United Methodist Church in Markesan.  They resided in the Markesan area. Sheryl met John while she was working for Grand River Co-op as a scale lady.   In her free time, Sheryl enjoyed Gator rides with John, crafting, and beating John and her mom in Sequence.  She also loved tending to her flowers and mowing her mom's lawn.  She enjoyed taking Heather, Melissa, and Lucas for sled rides behind her four wheeler, and enjoyed watching her great-nieces and nephews growing up.  Her favorite holiday was Christmas, as she loved watching children opening their gifts, just as much as she enjoyed double presents for her birthday/Christmas celebrations.

Sheryl is survived by her husband of 11 years, John; her mother, Carolyn; brother, Scot (Cathy) Plagenz; nieces, Heather (Bryan) Hamer, Melissa (Kassidy) Dornfeld; nephew, Lucas (Stacey) Plagenz;  in-laws, Darrell (Nancy) Cotterill, brother-in-law, Dennis (Izzy Eckert) Cotterill, sister-in-law, Judy (Kevin) Cushman, niece, Kendra Cushman; and step-brother, Joseph (fiance Misty Galli) Greget. She is further survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her father, Walter Plagenz, Jr., nephew, Collin Cushman, and other special relatives.
