Shirley Straks

Shirley Straks, age 85, passed away on Monday, August 10, 2026.

Shirley was born April 16, 1941, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Beaver Dam, the daughter of Spencer and Mary (Williams) Evans. Shirley attended Randolph schools, graduating from Randolph High School in 1959. On May 28, 1960, Shirley married Dale K. Straks in Randolph. Following their marriage, the couple lived in Waupun most of their married lives. Shirley was employed at Ripon Ford, Alto Co-op, Waupun Bootery, Gysbers Grocery, and Peters and Associates. Shirley enjoyed spending time with her family, camping, traveling and was an avid Packers fan.

Shirley is survived by her four children, Lynette (Scott) Peters of Waupun, Kristin (Randy) Dutzle of Waupun, Jeff (Kelly) Straks of Fairwater, and Todd (Christie) Straks of Waupun; grandchildren, Heather (Jon) Meyer, Tiffany (Nick) Arndt, Ashley (Louie) DeBoer, Lauren (Jerrod) VanLoo, Jacob Straks, Kole Straks, Brock Straks, Aaden Straks, Kylee Straks, Devin (Julie) Dutzle, Morgan (Andrew) Bahr; great-grandchildren; Liam, Lukas, Laney, Chastin, Logan, Madden, Vera, Hudson, Baylem, Sutten, Madysen, Trey, Braxten, Kohen, Ensley, Paisley, Kennedy, and Lennox; sisters-in-law, Sharon DeMotts and Noreen (Michael) Van Buren; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Dale Straks, on September 14, 2001; and a brother, Robert S . Evans; and other relatives.

Visitation for Shirley will take place on Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Visitation will also take place on Monday, August 17, 2026 at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Gwen Loomans officiating.
