Steven Donald Dohmann, 57, was called to his heavenly home due to a massive heart attack on April 18, 2012, at his residence on Sunset Bay Dr., in Beaver Dam WI.
Steven was born in Beaver Dam, WI on March 10, 1955 to Don and Beverly (Belling) Dohmann. He was confirmed at First Evangelical Lutheran Church, and was a graduate of Wayland Academy class of 1973. He attended U.W. Platteville and U.W. Parkside concentrating on engineering and business.
Steve worked for a number of Beaver Dam based companies such as Warmka, Professional Floor Covering and Integrity Floor Covering. He later started his own business, Down Right Flooring, and worked as an independent contractor for companies throughout southern Wisconsin.
He loved sporting events, hunting and fishing, with fishing being his true passion. Steve fished both open water and ice from Canada and throughout the Midwest. Steve had a number of trophy fish to his credit, northern pike, walleye and perch. Steve's greatest contribution was his willingness to teach and share all of his fishing experiences so others would benefit from them.
The Packers and Brewers consumed him. He was a true loyal fan. Once a year, for many years, family and friends from Minnesota, California, Nevada and Wisconsin would gather in Beaver Dam and caravan to Green Bay for one special Packer game.
Steve also loved movies and stories about the historical "Old West," and his travels took him from Wisconsin through many of the western states, from Arizona to California and through to the great Dakotas. Of all the places Steve visited during his lifetime, the most inspirational was Rome where he stood in St. Peter's Square and listened to the Pope deliver his Easter Message. Later on, he traveled to Corinth, Greece where he walked the pathways where St. Paul preached his sermons.
Steve's greatest joy was his family and friends. He prided himself on keeping in contact and networking with all he held close. Simple conversations, big hugs, humor and camaraderie was Steve's gift to all of us!
Steve is survived by his mother, Beverly; his sister, Bonnie (Roland) Moll of Beaver Dam; brother, David (Robin) Dohmann of Spicer MN; nephews, Robert Goes, Joshua Goes, Ryan Moll, Derrick Dohmann; niece, MacKenzie Dohmann; and great-nephew, Scott Goes. He is also survived by his aunt, Alice (Dr. C. William) Dohmann of Lowell; cousin, Paul (Maureen) Dohmann and their children, Kelly (Steven) Pena, Michael (Doreen) Dohmann and their children of Anaheim, CA; his godmother, Virginia Rahn of Green Bay; special friends, Rhonda and Elizabeth Lyon of Beaver Dam as well as many other relatives and friends.
