Steven P. Tetzlaff, age 74, of Fox Lake, WI passed away on April 20, 2026, surrounded by the people he loved most in life.
He was born on July 5, 1951, to Earl Tetzlaff and Margaret (Runnoe) Prochaska. Steve was a proud Marine, (1972-1974 Vietnam Conflict), a dedicated Correctional Sargeant at the Walls in Waupun and Fox Lake Correctional Institute, a member of Fox Lake American Legion Post 521 where he served as a Vice-Commander and on the Honor Guard for several years.
Stevie did things his own way, and he did them with pride. There was never any guessing where you stood with him. You could see it in the way he walked his best friend, Ishii, hosted family gatherings, or gave his time at the Legion Post. If he loved something, he loved it fully and without hesitation. His love for his country and his family shaped the way he lived. It showed in how he carried himself, what he stood for, and the loyalty he gave so freely. He will be deeply missed. His memory will live on in the things he believed in, the people he loved, and in the quiet moments where his presence is still felt. Semper Fi.
He is survived by his wife, Sheri (McGrath) Tetzlaff, daughter, Jennifer (Robert Murphy) McClintock (Slinger, WI), son, Billy Tetzlaff (St. Francis, WI), grandson, Jacky McClintock, granddaughter, Jayda Kolasinski, father and mother-in-law, Ronald and Beverly McGrath (Waupun), siblings, Daniel Tetzlaff (Colorado Springs, CO), Terry (Judy) Tetzlaff (Portage), Gayle Glynn (Beaver Dam), Russel Tetzlaff (Beaver Dam), Wayne Tetzlaff (Burnett), Ronald (Angie) Tetzlaff (Portage) and James Tetzlaff (Gunnison, CO); brother-in-law, Mike (Jeanette) McGrath (Oshkosh), sister-in-law, Lynn (Jeff) Hanson (Erin), his beloved dog, Ishii, and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
He is proceeded in death by his mother, Margaret (Jim) Prochaska; father, Earl Tetzlaff; brother, David Tetzlaff, sisters-in-law, Sandra Tetzlaff, Holly Tetzlaff, Christine Tetzlaff, and nephew, Jeffrey Tetzlaff.
