Susan Kaye (Henslin) Hamer, age 56 of Markesan, lost her battle to cancer on Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Meriter Hospital in Madison.
A funeral service for Susan will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Lutheran Church, 65 W. Catherine St., Markesan with Rev. Jason Jobs officiating. Susan will be laid to rest at Markesan Memorial Cemetery.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Cornerstone Funeral & Cremation Services, 181 S. Main St., Markesan and also on Thursday prior to the service at church, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
Susan was born on August 16, 1959 in Ripon, the daughter of Gilbert and Laverne (Vande Zande) Henslin. On June 13, 1981, Susan married the love of her life, Charles Hamer, at St. John's Lutheran Church. They were gifted with two beautiful boys, Bryan and Eric, and four beautiful grandchildren, Travis, Kylee, Wesley and Oakley. Susan worked at Del Monte in Markesan for 28 years, and then held her job at Demco as a Warehouse Supervisor until 2016. Susan loved her family dearly, especially her grandchildren; she spent any minute she could with them. Susan loved to shop, take motorcycle trips with Charlie and "the motorcycle gang", and she shared a love for her two cats, Ashes and Marley. She also loved to work!
Susan is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Charles; children, Bryan (Heather) Hamer of Markesan and Eric Hamer of Auburn, WA; grandchildren, Travis, Kylee, Wesley and Oakley; her mother, Laverne of Markesan; her siblings, Brent Henslin of Freedom, Keith (Patti) Henslin of Mound, MN and Gwen (Adrian) Ramirez of De Pere; and further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, Gilbert in 2013, and her paternal and maternal grandparents.
