Susan “Sue” Jean Klawitter, age 75 of Markesan, passed away on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at St. Agnes Hospital in Fond du Lac.
Sue was born on October 21, 1950, in DeWitt, Iowa, the daughter of Elbert and Donna (Sullivan) Block. Sue married Elmer “Bud” Klawitter on July 3, 1997. Over the years, Sue held many jobs before retiring from Alliance Laundry Systems in Ripon. Sue enjoyed many years of snowmobiling with family and friends, as well as bartending at Mike’s Hilltop Bar. She also loved reading, traveling, and watching the Packers.
Sue is survived by her children, William (Melissa) Nigh of Ironwood, MI, Barb (Julie) Mickelson of Wahkon, MN, Scott (Amy) Scheier of Ripon, WI, and Tara Scheier of Baraboo, WI; her beloved grandchildren, Jackie, Zack, Jonathan, Lucas, Brandon, Hailee, Brody, and Brianna; two great-grandchildren, Kaylee and Gannon; siblings, Bob (Leah) Block, Joe (Tina) Block, Connie (Dave) Wanless, Mary (Jeff) Wanless, Anita (Pat) Keegan, and Sandy Gough; and sisters-in-law, Sharon Block and Irene Block. Sue is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elbert and Donna Block; her husband, Bud; brothers, Jim, Denny, Randy, and Rod Block; sister-in-law, Kris Block; brother-in-law, Brian Gough; nephews, Allen, Tony, and Kenny Block; niece, Heidi Gayler; great-great-niece, Na’Kyla Neeley; as well as other relatives.
In honor of Sue, we invite everyone to wear Green Bay Packers apparel or green and gold in place of traditional funeral attire. Whether it’s your favorite jersey, hat, sweatshirt, or simply something in Packer colors, your participation would reflect the joy and passion Sue had for her beloved Packers.
Visitation for Sue will take place on Friday, August 28, 2026 at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home in Waupun from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Visitation will also take place on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at Werner Harmsen Funeral Home from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at Manchester #1 Cemetery.
